As we prepare for the start of the 2021 cross country season, I want to make sure everyone has the required paperwork.
All student-athletes must file out the Morgantown HS Eligibility Sheet (Google Forms) and the 5-page participation packet.
These can be found on the Teampages website and I have created a short ZOOM video to assist you with where to find the information. I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday morning at 8:30 am in the school cafeteria!

You can view the video via ZOOM below or look under the VIDEOS tab on Teampages. https://wvu.zoom.us/rec/share/Ls5VN8N67CYY-s7qIdd2WenL272MoBqoaXQ6DdIF8-7MTen3jGlzZUSZ-8pvTyYR.7qPnZQSu0pOxJAdI?startTime=1627758631000

Morgantown High School Cross Country
Summer 2020 COVID-19 Response Regulations

In response to the worldwide Conronavirus Pandemic, the Morgantown High School Cross Country team releases the following regulations for re-starting team organized conditioning and practice settings. The MHS XC coaching staff acknowledges the WVSSAC sentiments that “Extracurricular activities are an integral part of a student’s total educational experience.” We wish to provide a reasonably safe opportunity for our student-athletes to return to sport participation. The coaches recognize that any form of group gathering increases the possibility of contracting COVID-19; the current team regulations attempt to reduce that possibility and contain any potential outbreak.

Many student-athletes have had limited to no access to athletic facilities and organized sports for several months. The purpose of the phase-in approach is too;
1. slowly recondition student-athletes to handle regular practices later this summer,
2. to show that by taking precautions extracurricular activities can resume,
3. allow student-athletes a chance to return to some level of socialization while still working within the framework of physical distancing.

The time frame for Monongalia County Schools
Phase 1 (non-sport specific activity)
Phase 2 – June 22 – July 12 (non-sport specific activity)
Phase 3 – July 13- Aug 2 (WVSSAC Three weeks summer practice)
Regular Fall Sports Season – Aug 3 (Regulations for regular season will depend on how summer sessions go. WVSSAC will decide in July.)

Remember, what we do now will determine what we can do this Fall.
